Our client operates an academic teaching hospital affiliated with MSH Medical School Hamburg.

Centrally located with short distances between departments, the hospital is home to a comprehensive and closely integrated range of services, including the Department of Acute and Emergency Medicine, General and Visceral Surgery, the Department of Hematology, Oncology and Palliative Care, the Department of Thoracic Surgery, the Department of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, the Department of Pulmonology, the Department of Urology, as well as the divisions of Pain Management, Radiology, and Spinal Surgery.

We are looking for a candidate for our client, starting on October 1, 2026, or later, for the position of

Senior Physician in General and Visceral Surgery (m/f/d)

The Department of General and Visceral Surgery covers the entire spectrum of surgical treatment for malignant tumors (oncological surgery), particularly those of the gastrointestinal tract, the pancreas, the liver, as well as the lungs and the mediastinum, and is one of our client’s key areas of focus. Surgery on the thyroid and adrenal glands is also part of the range of treatments offered.

We are seeking a highly skilled general and visceral surgeon who already has substantial experience as a board-certified specialist. A patient-centered approach, strong interpersonal skills, an understanding of cross-departmental organization, and the ability to think entrepreneurially form the foundation for the further development of our department.

• Treatment of Inguinal, Umbilical, Incisional, and Diaphragmatic Hernias (Hernia Surgery)
• Surgery for Diseases of the Thyroid or Pancreas (Endocrine Surgery)
• Treatment of Rectal Diseases (Proctology)
• Malignant Tumors (Oncologic Surgery)
• Emergency Surgery
• Minimally invasive surgery, whenever possible and appropriate (laparoscopy, thoracoscopy)
